haha, this book is really funny!not too much but the dialogues made me laugh!but i think it left me hanging by the end and now I'm looking forward on reading the second book. I don't know how Clary can handle the obstacles in her life after she knew a lot of terrible things about her life..
like first, the person she already hate even before she met him turned out to be her father, and how can she handle now that his best friend confessed to her that he is in love with her,...her mother is in com ...more

I loved this new world with all the imaginery worlds combining into one, but I didn't like the ending. It was SO weird! I'll start the second one and maybe I'll like the first one better - who knows?

The book is a little random and it reads like a list of events. The author describes emotion, but I don't feel it. The male protagonist is supposed to appear beautiful, but I have not been able to visualize him from her descriptions. The world she describes does not feel real to me--and usually I buy into fantasy settings fairly easily.

I haven't been sucked into a series this good since Twilight, seriously! I patiently reserved the series at the library. Each one had more holds on it due to being more popular and new. It took about a month to get the first one and I was done. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I thought about just buying them on Amazon, but I would still have to wait a week for it to ship. Could have driven to the bookstore, but that is a half an hour drive!! So, I did what any other obsessed read

I can't wait to read City of Ashes! City of Bones is one book that really didn't kick-off for me right away but as I was more than half through it, I began to understand each of the characters and surprisingly loved each one especially Jace and Clary (and even Alec and Isabelle). Now it seems like I can't wait to read Book 2 and find out where these two will be led to and how their "love" for each other can survive (if it ever will?). Nice, nice, nice! Really love it!

So with a new year (2010) I thought I might give this book another try. And 2nd try didn't help change my views of the book at all. So for all those that like this book, but I did give it a 2nd chance.
"I can't believe I finished this. It was like one of those horrible movies, late at night, when you know you should just turn off the tv and go to bed. It's a rip off of Harry Potter, Charmed, Buffy. ...more

Not that great.
It was a long book, which usually means I fall in love with at least one character, but not this time! Nope, not even Jace, who many of you seem to love, did it for me.
And it took forever too. I suppose it's because drama is more of a page-turner for me than action is.
although the book did have a fair amount of drama as well.
All in all, I'll read the second book eventually. ...more
