This is my first time reading Gaiman. I don't know why it took me so long. I've seen the Doctor Who episodes he wrote and loved them. The story is a magical fantasy written from the point of view of a seven year old. The voice is clear and flowing and I loved the little details that were included. Just enough to bring the characters to memorable life. This book will live in my mind for a long time to come. ...more

Che dire, Neil Gaiman è sempre Neil Gaiman, anche se qui mi è piaciuto un pochino meno del solito. Ho avuto dei primi incontri non proprio idilliaci con questo autore, poi ho perseverato e ho capito che lo adoro alla follia. Per cui, anche se non ho adorato questo libro, l'ho trovato comunque una lettura piacevolissima.

È un libro per adulti narrato dal punto di vista di un bambino di 7 anni a cui ne succedono di tutti i colori. È un libro stranissimo e, come altre volte, confermo che per me Gaim ...more

I live the sound of the aithor’s Voice. He also seems like such a gentle person for having such warped stories. They do have a child’s nightmare - tall-tale quality but they are missing something for me as an adult. Perhaps as he says on the book - I only like boring books with no conversation. There is.a sense of déjà vu for me. Not sure why. I find it difficult to relate to his characters. Next one will try as an audiobook like another reader suggested.
