What Members Thought

Having just read this book again for the umpteenth time (but not for many years), I found the old magic to be present. I wouldn't call this a children's book, because the language is quite elaborate (the first sentence in the book is 149 words), but the story certainly resonates with all ages. I know I first read it at the age of 12 but I was a ferocious reader. I had forgotten how funny it was in places, but it is also very sad. Although it took me a while to get through it, "Anne of Green Gables" was a pretty good read, very simple but full of surprises. I really enjoyed the heroine, Anne; she was so sweet and innocent, but without coming out as a baby. My only complaint with the book was that I found that certain parts where dragging on too long, but that was probably because I was not used to reading books with so much details. I strongly recommend it however!
