This book made me feel a lot of things. Some story elements were executed well, and others...not so much. It's nice to know The Girl on the Train wasn't a fluke. Paula Hawkins presents a compelling story here (I stayed up late to finish the book, which I hardly ever do anymore), but one that was not fully-realized enough for me to think it exceptional. I found the jumping around between first-person and third-person perspectives tiring. Mostly, this book made me want to rewatch Broadchurch.

2.5 stars 😢

You have no idea how much I was looking forward to this one, but it just didn't do it for me. Too many narrators, no one I really routed for and a couple of big (to me) questions left unanswered.

It was kind of hard to get into at first.

Way too many characters!!! It sometimes made the story confusing and I had to go back to see who I was reading again.

Not as suspenseful as Girl on Train, some of the plot seemed predictable. I was hoping for more twists and turns.
