I picked up this memoir at a friend's house, curious because I'd recently seen the biopic of J.D. Salinger "Rebel in the Rye." It tells the mid-1990s story of a young poet who becomes an assistant at a Luddite literary agency (at first all she does is type from a dictaphone) and has a few brushes with Salinger (the agency's most famous client, despite the fact he hasn't published a book in 30 years), mostly over the phone.
