I decided to give this second Lightbringer book a go after I had a bit of a mixed reaction to the first one, but I'm happy to say that I found this book much better. There were still a few things that I didn't really like... For example, I found Liv's storyline remarkably dull, and I still struggled a little bit with Kip and his two very different moods (meek and pathetic, or obnoxious and rash).

One of the best fantasy books i've read. Some people may hold something against Kip's school life or Gavin's badassness pointing that are clichés, and they could be right, but even the biggest clichés may become the most interesting subjects when well writen.
I could not recommend this book more, give it a chance and i dare you can stop reading before the end. ...more
