This is my own book, so my use of the review is to help provide some framing to the work.

Following on from Tales from the 23rd Century: Children of Earth, I began work on the second title which is currently still being written and currently codenamed "Little Aliens"

There was so much detail and background information which I dearly wanted to put into the first novel, but ultimately carved out so as not to make it lengthier than the Encyclopedia Brittanica, that I had scraps of information lying a This is my own book, so my use of the review is to help provide some framing to the work.

There was so much detail and background information which I dearly wanted to put into the first novel, but ultimately carved out so as not to make it lengthier than the Encyclopedia Brittanica, that I had scraps of information lying all over the place. Worlds, Colonies, Personalities and so on. There's a whole section on the mainframe computers at the core of each main colony and the digital personae which inhabit them, but again it would have read more like an educational tome rather than a light-entertainment sci-fi novel.

My attention was drawn to my own website and putting all this background information on there as a sort of wiki-reference to the 23rd Century, but then again the task daunted me to the point of me avoiding doing so as it was just a chore. A chore for me = lack of interest and thus I believe it would just be boring for the reader.

Then a nugget of an idea formed. Why not present all this background information and 'colour' in much smaller novellas, each featuring a plethora of differing characters and different situations from all over the solar system? This idea not only took root in my tiny mind, it came to fruition here with 'Hijacked'. Here was a method I could colour in all the surrounding background information to the main 'Tales' featuring Maddox and his crew, but not bog them down.
Thus the 'Chronicles' line was born. Deemed to be much smaller stories than presented in the Tales, featuring diverse characters, locations and situations but each coming together like jigsaw pieces to complete the picture behind the main novel line.

What's more important is that I thoroughly enjoyed writing Hijacked! I loved diverting from what Maddox was up to, to be able to play with new characters and their quirks within the setting but even more that it opened up a major opportunity to introduce elements which may feature in Tales, allowing for crossovers and intertwining the two titles together.

Much more fun than just telling people about the workings of a computer on a web page!!

Following the same ethos of simple sci-fi entertainment as presented in Tales, I hope you enjoy the Chronicles as they develop and emerge.
