I read this at the perfect time. Having just read a boring disappointing book I wanted to feel enthralled in a mystery, something fast paced and interesting. This delivered.

I love nothing more than reading a good thriller that just grabs my attention from the first page and keeps it throughout the whole book and this was no exception. Shitty, dysfunctional and problematic characters you can’t trust? yes. Messed up situations and twists? yes. I had thought out a few theories of each character (

To be truthful with you, I was quite scared to pick this one up. I can't even remember how this book came into my possession. It is a hyped-up book and with hyped-up books there comes expectations though one tries to keep an open mind. I remember reading some reviews on this but it has been so long ago. I also remember starting the movie but I didn't finish it. I think I stopped it due to wanting to read the book first.

Fair warning: Spoilers

I'm not so sure my thinking was "forever changed" by this one. It was an interesting story, for sure, but I don't know where all the hype is based. It is fluidly written with a concrete plot and excellent character development, though. One of my favorite things about The Girl on the Train was the formatting. It was written in a "Morning, Evening" way, so there are major time skips in every chapter, which works very well with the main character's alcoholic personality

at the beginning I was thinking this is a lot like Gone Girl but by about half way through I couldn't read this book fast enough. I was torn between reading a couple minutes at a time when I could, or waiting until I had a decent amount of time to savour and enjoy. very good. kept me riveted to the very end. ...more

Ever since I watched the movie adaptation of this, I've wanted to get my hands on it. And finally I did. Absolutely loved it. One heck of a thriller.

Also, I borrowed this from a friend yesterday and have to return it today. So I had to finish this before sleeping last night. And I did. Honestly I was just testing if I still had it in me to finish a book in just a few hours. 😛

Great book. Slowly introduced the characters, but not all are what they seem.
Very fast paced, you can tell you're heading towards the answers but it only starts to all hang together about 3/4 of the way through - well that's when I started to see things anyway!
