A fabulous combination of historical and fantasy fiction - 1485 Brittany, young Anne, Duchess of Brittany, and an order of assassin nuns dedicated to the Breton god of death, Mortain. Ismae, a 17-year-old assassin, takes an assignment at Anne's court that leads her into danger and love (the Duchess's half-brother, Gavriel). Loved that several of the characters existed historically and many of the events took place, but, unfortunately, Ismae and her order of assassin nuns are purely imaginary. ...more
