Maybe i read this too fast and that colored my review, (i had a deadline to be done for book club) or maybe it’s just that this type of book is not my cup of tea. This book was really tough to read, and really sad, but i also had a tough time connecting with the characters. i know it was based on real life, and the author clearly spent a lot of time researching and getting her facts straight, which was great, but i feel like the characters were a little one-dimensional. i didn’t understand Herta
