Page-turning historical fiction. Turn-of-the-century New York City, Coney Island sideshows, sisters, illicit love, abandoned baby, insane asylum - this book has it all, woven together in a pleasing way. Only when all the connections between the cast of characters come together do you see the big picture, delighted along the way by each surprise revealed.
