Loosely based on events from the life of Margaret Mead & set in 1930s New Guinea, King explores the relationships between a husband & wife team of anthropologists, Nell and Fen, and Andrew Bankson, an anthropologist studying tribes on the Sepik River. Excellent characterization & exploration of themes of cultural differences, ownership, love, loneliness.
