I’ve heard about this book around the blogging world and BookTubers and I’m pretty happy I picked this book up. The plot of this book was so interesting and I really liked how this book was written. The characters in this book were just great and the world development was very well developed. I am really excited for the next book and if you have read this book and enjoyed it, you would too.

The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski

I'm so glad I finally read this. Kestrel is a truly amazing and outstanding main character. She is strong, but in such a different way than you normally see in fantasy books. 4/8/15 first read - A fascinating story, very complex in character development and world-building. I thoroughly enjoy the intelligence of the story in general.

12/17/17 - still holds the same charm

1/2/20- HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THE DOUBLE MEANING BEHIND THAT LAST LINE?? Gods.

'The Winner's Curse' is set in a world torn by war, where the once powerful Herrani people have become enslaved under the Valorian Empire. Kestrel is the daughter of a Valorian General who stumbles upon an au
