The first book in this trilogy was great. The second mediocre and this felt like a lazy botched job.

The writing style was awkward. I got the feeling the author was interrupted during the writing process because I felt like I was being taken out of the fantasy setting and into modern times. I suppose you could argue that not all fantasy is inspired by the past but seeing as the minimal world building hints at ever other cliche fantasy world that what I'm going to assume.

Giving this a 2.5 stars

The last book didn't save this trilogy unfortunately, yeah seems to be either a hit or miss with this author's books and I think after reading her Spy Glass trilogy well the closest to good I got was with Inside Out. Yeah for a conclusion well the ending left a lot to be desired but not in a good way.

She's fought death and won. But how can she fight her fears?

Avry knows hardship and trouble. She fought the plague and survived. She took on King Tohon and defeated him. But
