This was a great first book in a series about mermaids, Atlantia, Abbadon and more.
I found it to be fun, and as the chapters were short I flew though the book.
There's a glossary at the back which explains what terms mean and who characters are. I found this to be really helpful.
I love the fact that the main character Serafina has a pet octopuss. That's just so frickin cute!

I gave this book 3.5 stars.
The action in the book was plentiful and the characters were diverse. I can tell that Donnelly is going to give readers an unforgettable series with her cast of characters. This book definitely quenched my thirst for a good mermaid read.
