I enjoyed Yellow Wife by this author very much and couldn’t wait to read her next book.
I love her writing style and characterization.
This novel was beautifully written abut two young black women set in the 1950’s.
Ruby lives in Philadelphia and hopes to become the first woman in her family to attend college.
Eleanor attends Howard University in Washington D.C.
Both women come from different backgrounds but find themselves in similar circumstances. They both experience unexpected ...more

I liked this book but it didn't grab me and make me sorry to have to put it down. I did like the characters. The writing was ok but a bit melodramatic. I felt for these women and their situations. I saw the ending coming but for me it ended abruptly. ...more
