I enjoyed Yellow Wife by this author very much and couldn’t wait to read her next book.
I love her writing style and characterization.
This novel was beautifully written abut two young black women set in the 1950’s.
Ruby lives in Philadelphia and hopes to become the first woman in her family to attend college.
Eleanor attends Howard University in Washington D.C.
Both women come from different backgrounds but find themselves in similar circumstances. They both experience unexpected ...more

Beautiful, heart wrenching story of what it was to be young, black, and female in the 50's. The House of Eve carries you through two, parallel lives of women striving to stand apart and make a difference as they determinedly face obstacles and challenges along the way.
