I became interested in Clementine Churchill when I was reading The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson. In that book, she is presented as a force of nature, strong willed, empathetic, a determined woman, who just happens to be married to a man who is a force of nature in his own right who ends up becoming the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
