I loved this book, it was a real page turner. It is the sad story of Jo Manders who finds out that her husband’s plane is shot down in the War. How will she endure live without him? She has no money and is forced to live a life of service to her husband’s aunt. Dottie Forsythe is very condescending to Jo and treats her like an employee rather than a relative.
