I won this book in a GOODREADS GIVEAWAY.
I am so glad I won this book, otherwise I might not have ever seen it. This is the first book I have read from this author and I thought it was wonderful. It took me some time to read it, not because it was boring in the least, but because I read a lot of books at one time and this is a large book you want to take time with.
As you can read from the blurb the time is 1883 in New York City and you have the cousins Anna S ...more

This book received very high ratings from other readers so I seem to ...more

I read Donati's Into the Wilderness and the entire series between 2016-17. One of the best HF series out there. 6 books but worth the effort.
In this book Donati jumps a couple decades and tells the story of descents from the original books and writes an engrossing heart grabber of 2 cousins (Anna and Sophie Savard) both doctors in the footsteps of their female ancestors. The time and place are 1883 New York City , not a great time for women in medicine. Anthony Comstock controlled the streets ( ...more

I won this one from goodreads giveaway back in 2015! I took me a long time to get to it but I did, finally! I read some of it but listened to most of it on audio. A really good audio production. I really loved how this book seemed to transport me to a different time, I feel it was done really well. Lots of story lines going on but easy to keep track. Why I'm not giving it 5 stars is the romance aspect. Probably not heavy on the romance for fans of romance but I'm not a romance reader at all so e
