Here is another book I wasn't sure I would like as I don't care for time travel books. BUT.. once again I was wrong and this time travel book was AWESOME!
Jake Epping is having a normal day when his friend Al, who owns a diner, lets him in on a big secret.

Al's little diner has a portal that leads back to the 1950's - 60's! And Al wants Jake to go back and try to save Kennedy to see if the world would be a better place. Al has been trying for awhile but now he's g ...more

Jake Epping is a high-school English teacher, who also teaches adults seeking their GEDs. One of those adults is Harry Dunning, the school janitor, who is obviously “slow” and walks with a limp. The essay he writes describing the “The Day That Changed My Life” stuns Jake. So when his friend Al Templeton reveals that there is a portal to the past in his pantry – a “rabbit hole” that will take the traveler back to Sept 9, 1 ...more

I usually do not read books this long. This one was completely worth it. With the audible deftly provided by Craig Wasson and the Kindle text before my eyes, I was entertained for 30 hours.
I haven't read much by King, but this is a time travel book, not horror. With the help of a friend who wants him to change the future and eliminate JFK's assassination, Jake Epping goes down the rabbit hole and arrives in the Lisbon Falls Maine of 1958 (when he started his descent he was in the Lisbon Falls of ...more

I loved the way time travel played out in this story. Great storytelling and I loved the ending. I haven't read King in a while and this book reminds me of what a great storyteller her is and may pick up another in 2021.

I know I'm not giving this book a fair shake. I'm giving up after just a few chapters. But as a huge King fan, this book has had almost the polar opposite effect on me after a few chapters as his other books have. His others that I've read have made me think, "What?! Woah. Really? Ok, that's interesting. What next? What does that *mean*?" This one was more like, "Ugh. That was cheesy. Heh? Who cares?" None of the intrigue. None of the mystery. Nothing that interested me to keep reading. I'm pret

As is usually the case with Stephen King, almost perfect if not for some minor nitpicking about the ending. The last three chapters felt a bit too rushed, but I'll be damned if I was expecting such a beautiful love story.
