This beautiful, lyrical book will live with me for a very long time. I'm rather stunned at the number of negative reviews here on Good Reads!

This book has been on my radar for a long time. I read and listened to it. It was an interesting read but not one I would consider amazing. I think it was that while I was interested in the real-life characters, I just never connected fully with the writing. I learned more about Poland's experience during WWII which was really quite horrible and just as heartbreaking as war ever can be.
