From a good dose of Buck-U-Up to churchmen painting a statue pink to a hilarious drunk to a wonderful haunted house story this is a fine collection of Wodehouse short fiction. For any other comedic writer the Mr. Mulliner short stories would be the highlight of a career, for PG Wodehouse they are a pleasant change of pace from Jeeves & Wooster and Blandings.

This is the first collection of short stories about the remarkable doings of a certain Mr. Mulliner's many relations. The Mulliner stories are some of my favorite Wodehouse stories. Some of the great characters are Augustine Mulliner, a meek, weak cleric who takes a tonic called "Buck-U-Uppo" and becomes jovial and persuasive.
