Empress of Blandings is surely one of the luckiest pigs in the world as Lord Emsworth, the Earl dotes on the Empress. 'Service with a Smile' is another gem from Wodehouse set in the Blandings Castle. Lord Ickenham, also known as Uncle Fred arrives at Blandings and proves to be a saviour and an optimist for all those who need his help. He plots for and against his acquaintances to restore true love at Blandings. The book provides the reader a steady entertainment.

The gang reunites for a bit of confusion. Lord Emsworth surprises us though not his cameraman and grandson. Marriages occur including one that will surprise the ardent Wodehouse fan. There may or may not be a pignapping instigated by the Duke of Dunstable, I'm still not sure and I read the book. There is an imposter and a secretary who puts even the Efficient Baxter to shame.

This is a pretty good late Wodehouse, but it lacks the charm and inspiration that distinguished many of his earlier Blandings Castle novels.
