This is a hodge-p0dge of Wodehouse in what I call the Journeyman stage of his career. The schoolboy stories that featured predominately in his earliest years have been left behind, but the fabulous wordplay and rare ability to transcribe joy onto a page haven't quite arrived yet. The first two stories I found enjoyable especially the first sight of Bertie Wooster and the first glimpse of Jeeves.
