The first full length Jeeves and Wooster novel reminds you just how good PG Wodehouse was as he approached his prime. While the three J&W short story collections are good solid comedy and sometimes more it is when PG has a whole novel to work with and he can go about bunging description, simile, plot, bizarre characters and great comedic business about in the whole of a 100,000 words or so that a masterpiece develops.
