When I first finished the Hunger Games series, I awarded it an overall 4 star. It was better than average, but lacked greatness. It was not a book that I would tell all my family and friends about. When reading this book I was not sure if I would enjoy it. I always try and read the book before the film but in this case I watched the film before reading the book. But I found it did not effect my enjoyment of the book at all.
I liked the main characters, liking Peeta more through reading the book. Though I will admit that I found Katniss quite cold sometimes and found it a bit annoying that she was so blind to the depth of Peetas feelings for her. This said I found myself hooked from the beg ...more

Wanted to read the book before seeing the film and I am glad I did as the film misses bits out. It is a futuristic setting about the poor different districts (12 of them) serving rich capitol. Two children are offered up from each district to play in the hunger games, brutal but the Capitol use it as a tool to remind the people from each district not to rise up against then.

Every words, sentence, paragraph and chapters, as well, do not disappoint me. It's like there's some magnetic pull behind every words that kept me reading until the last punctuation mark.
Though the movie is undoubtedly beautiful it does not give justice to the book. It's beyond perfection. ...more
