Very good book! I loved the character development, even for some of the more minor characters, like Amma and Links mom. That might be some of why this book is so long. For some reason this book seems to either get great reviews or horrible reviews. The people with the horrible reviews seem to me to get stuck with the issue of reality. This is a book and on top of that it's a book of fiction, which means it's not based on or in reality. The fact that Ethan "sounded like a girl" never crossed my m

I discovered the movie first before the book, i watched the movie at HBO one night then I got hooked. I didn’t know the movie was from a book, and it was the first movie out of four books in the series. This book has a little twilight-ish feeling in it, except they are not vampires. Long story short normal boy meets girl or in this case dreams about a girl who he never even met before. I had this as an eBook for ages before I bothered to get past the first chapter. In fact, I only managed it because a group of us read it together and set a certain amount of pages each day - but boy am I glad I did.

As young adult fiction goes, this is good, solid fantasy. I'm interested enough to read the series, but wavering a little on some of the characters. A bit gothic romance, a bit Grease. I'm fence sitting right now.

I wanted to read this before watching the film. I expected quite a bit from this book after reading some of the recommendations. I found myself very disappointed. I really struggled to get into the book and found myself quite bored at times. It did get a bit more interesting in the end but do not think I am going to continue in the series. x
It's not just your typical fantasy-romance story. Really Unpredictable! What I love about this is that every few chapters, I learned new words for my vocabulary.

I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars...say 3.5. It just needs something else to be spectacularly memorable. Will read the rest of the series though.
