When I first came across this book I was really excited to read it. The cover looked amazing and the storyline sounded original. Because I haven't read any of Amy Ewing's books before I read the reviews to see if the book was going to be as good as I hoped. I regret reading the reviews now, because they were not very flattering and put me off reading the story. So I left it on my TBR list and there it stayed until I came across it again.

I really enjoyed this story though I found it had a bit of a slow start and stopped readin it. It did get really good though and glad that I did start reading it again. The story is about Violet who is a surragette who has been in a centre waiting to go to auction and the Jewel since she was taken from her family.
