Communities divided into sections is the focal point among people who are segregated into ranks. The Marsh section of poor families who's daughters are yanked away for servitude begins with the story of Violet and her journey. The industrial section and families are much the same. Farm families and Bank families are ideal living situations for those who can afford to live comfortably. When I first came across this book I was really excited to read it. The cover looked amazing and the storyline sounded original. Because I haven't read any of Amy Ewing's books before I read the reviews to see if the book was going to be as good as I hoped. I regret reading the reviews now, because they were not very flattering and put me off reading the story. So I left it on my TBR list and there it stayed until I came across it again.

I really enjoyed this story though I found it had a bit of a slow start and stopped readin it. It did get really good though and glad that I did start reading it again. The story is about Violet who is a surragette who has been in a centre waiting to go to auction and the Jewel since she was taken from her family.
Her time in the Jewel is not good and the duchess who owns her can be very cruel. While the Royal women are lethal ready to destroy each other and even kill the surragettes to get at e ...more
