I definitely was not expecting the darkness that came out of this book, which made me love it even more.
Forgive me for jumping on to this a bit late, but one of the things I wanted to do this year was check out all of the series that have gotten a lot of attention that I just hadn't gotten a chance to read before. I've heard of Lu's master writing abilities and picked this one up cheap at Goodwill.

I thought this was a very good book; however it felt like to many characters going on at once. I kept having to re-read and reference back to who was who. I'm looking forward to the second novel

There's something about Adelina that resonates with me. Her struggle is easily something I believe any woman can relate to. If not the perfect sister, theres the perfect friend, classmate, or relative. Lu does a great job blurring the lines between friend and foe. Because....life.
