So what do I think? AWESOME:)

Funny, romantic, enjoyable & everything you want.

I loved that the characters were so close to reality. The scenarios are sometimes expected but sometimes they are a total shock. Parenting issues are explained in a very impressive way.

Loved Milo. An adorable little thing he is.

Rosie is a confused, compromising and easily convinced person but I think that is what makes this story goes on.

I got irritated with Jonathan and that was his purpose in the story. right? A lo ...more

The Opposite of Maybe by Maggie Dawson was an ok read. I liked the fact that she made a sad book, into a happier book. The book was really depressing when you look at all that happened, but she did a good job turning around the sad with just a bit of happy.
The opposite of maybe is about a woman, named Rosie who has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for 15 years, and they have tried to get married, but never followed through.

The opposite of maybe is about a woman, named Rosie who has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for 15 years, and they have tried to get married, but never followed through.
Her boyfriend Jonathan is obsessive about a few things including collecting tea cups. When someone approaches him about showing his tea cups in a museum, he beomes a whole different person, especially when he is offered the cruator position. He has always made decisions methodically and is not a fan of change, so when he tells Rosie that they need to move to California and start new there, Rosie does not know what to think.
Just before the move, Rosie falls and sprains her ankle really badly and cannot pack boxes or help move stuff, so she asks Jonathan to hire a moving company. He doesn't, he call their friends who come over dressed for a party. So after talking the men into moving the things into the truck, Jonathan and Rosie should be on their way. Rosie wants to remain to clean up the apartment so she can get her deposit back and Jonathan wants to leave. Rosie also would like to rest her ankle but Jonathan says he needs to keep to the schedule.
Rosie instructs Jonathan to drop her off at her Grandma Sopie's house, and he does, and then he drives off. He does not contact her till 6 weeks later, and tells her that he made a mistake and wants her back. Rosie is not sure what she wants, and has to decide over the next 9 months, what is going to make her happy.
Why 9 months? She has found out that she is expecting and neither she, nor Jonathan ever wanted to have children. This child will change their lives forever, even before she is born.
You will meet George (Sopie's friend), Tony (Sopie's house guest), Milo (Tony's son), Annie (Tony's almost ex-wife), Dena (Annie's Partner), plus many more characters.
This book has potential, and is a decent read. I did not like it personally, but you might find it a good read. ...more

Rosie has spent the last 15 years of her life with her partner Jonathan, while her friends were off getting married and having babies her and Jonathan are merely ambling through life. Which up until now both of them seemed perfectly content doing.

I loved this book and author's clever character dialogue. The story moves at a good pace, keeping it interesting without the necessity to overload the reader with boring details. It kept me entertained from the first page to the last and left me feeling like I had just emerged from the movie theatre with my emotions barely intact and savouring every minute of this touching realistic look at life. ...more
