This is a short story that shows Celcile's life at 13 and has more backstory about her parents' marriage. Being only 26 pages, it was like a short chapter in a book. An enjoyable appetizer, but not a meal. ...more

This was a nice look into what Cècile's life was like before she was kidnapped and shows how her relationship with her mother is a complicated affair. It gives some good insight, and it is a free read on Issuu.com but you don't nessisarily need to read it to continue in the series. ...more

There's not a lot here to review, since it's a super short story, but we did get an insight to the main character and her family, who I'm assuming will be important characters later in the books. Still, it was well written, which gives me lots of optimism for the main series! ...more
