I had zero expectations from this book when I first started . I just wanted to read a classic and took it up only because I had a buddy to read with.
As i started reading , I felt Miss Scout Finch will be my takeaway from this book. But as the book progressed, I realized that every character in this book , major or minor, is so properly etched. The novel is about two children, Jem and Scout Finch, living in a fictional southern U.S town, Maycomb, trying to understand the world, through their principled father Atticus Finch and the events that affect them and their neighborhood. The town is steeped in racial and other prejudices. Atticus is a lawyer while most of the neighborhood is made of farmers. Just finished re-reading one of my all time favourites. It never fails to please me. If you haven't read this book you should definitely put it top of your list, it has so much to teach us, and it is a really easy read.
