The first book, "A Summer and The Fall", ends on that note. Two years later, that question is answered. David settles into a relationship. He discovers how challenging the happily-ever-after is when reality sets in. It is not the big conflicts and melodramatic moments that he finds difficult, but rather the shuffles of daily life.
Along with his friends who have moved on to newer loves in life, David faces the long stretch of forever and tries to overcome the listlessness that has replaced his once exciting love life.
When his partner loses an important person in his life, David is the first to be there for him. But what he discovers in the process would break his heart and would make him rethink everything about his relationship.
Would David find it in him to forgive? Or would his love be too wounded that the only option for him would be to let go? In this moment of great turmoil and frailty, what would he do when the one who got away literally walks in the door and back into his life?
