The story wasn't bad however it was very long. It could have gone through that entire story in much less pages. I did like it, there were parts that really grabbed my attention but there were also parts that I skimmed through.

I liked the book very much even though it was too long. I love Donna Tartt’s writing style and I envy her vocabulary and depth of knowledge.
The storyline is heavy yet fascinating: when a single mother dies in a split second, how will her only child get through life on his own? His father has already left the family home and divorced the child’s mother a year before the well educated and quite brilliant mother died. In general, father’s did not rate well in this book.
