I really, really liked this book, even though the story was heart-wrenching a lot of the time. It does a fantastic job of letting you feel the incredible attachment parents have for their children. I can totally understand how devastated both women feel in this story. Towards the end, I didn't want to put it down. Don't want to say too much so I don't ruin the story for other. A definite good-read!

This was a riveting book full of impossible choices and the consequences of those choices. The characters all have their flaws and that is the beauty of the book--well-developed intricate characters and who love and interact in realistically complex ways. Even the side characters are multilayered and add depth to the story. I didn't feel like there was any villain in the story. Just a lot of struggling and suffering people who make mistakes. Really made me think and stayed with me.
