What Members Thought
It’s official; I’m a fan of Gaiman’s writing. The man has such an incredible imagination!
I’m so sad this book hasn’t been published when I was a child, I think it would have been one of my favorites. Just enough creepy, spooky, and scary, but told from a perspective of a child (a very brave and smart child), which sort of makes it better. No hesitation, no overthinking, just seeing things as they are and accepting them.
Great book!

Great book!

Creepy and haunting. At it's core, it's a lesson in complaining. I greatly enjoyed and yet didn't enjoy at all, the odd world created.

I was surprised by how closely the movie followed this book, as I had seen the movie long before I picked up this book. It's a great short and spooky read that is perfect for Halloween coming up. Gaiman is a fabulous storyteller.
Final Verdict: Definitely a book you do not want to miss. Appropriate for 4th grade and up. ...more
