I loved this wonderful book, set in 1979, in which Morwenna, a 15-year-old book-loving Welsh girl, fleeing from her abusive witch mother, eventually finds her father, whom she has never met before. She is sent off to an English boarding school, a rather grim, snobby place with few kindred spirits, but as she writes in her journal, "It doesn't matter.
