Shelves: favorites, read-2015
Cozy love story set in a bookstore; could there be anything sweeter? Really enjoyed the whole thing from the characters to the short story references. I could relate as I spend hours in book stores and libraries. Definitely a treat!

"mo man is an island; every book is a world". This is the sign hanging above the entrance of Island Book Store on Alice Island. The store is owned and run by A. J. Fikry , a widower who also lives in an apartment above the store. One Friday evening he finds someone has left a two year old toddler in the middle of the Children's book section. This is one of many "bookstore owner" books I've read. I just finished reading The Pale Blue Eye (Louis Bayard)in which Edgar Allan Poe was a main character. In this book Poe's Tamerlane plays a critical role. Coincidence? I don't think so... ;-) A.J. Fikry is a bookstore owner on a small island. Two women come into his life in different ways. I liked all the characters but one (nobody likes him) and the plot develops at a regular pace. ...more
