Better than the previous book, this is an adrenaline fueled suspense takes place in the South American jungle. I cannot help but think of the challenges faced the survivalists on Naked and Afraid. One word: bugs. The stories feature two very skilled and experienced CIA operators who also happen former lovers. Their conflicts, burdens and regrets that come with a second chance romance are woven into their rescue operation. Ms. Melton does a fine job balancing the romance with the suspense. The ba ...more

After a rocky start to this series, Marliss Melton has found her groove. This book is a great action-adventure tale with a wonderful second chance romance.

Lucy was a crack CIA agent until she is captured, beaten and molested by the Venezuelan Elite Guards. She has been on desk duty for 10 months and, unknown to her superiors, she still has PTSD from it. But, she has been cleared for a mission.

CIA undercover agent Lucy is sent undercover with a former partner/lover. He must Not learn that she is suffering from PTSD. She must help rescue these men because she feels partially responsible for their captivity.

They rescue the captives, escape, get back to the US and relearn to trust each other.

I just love this series.
