Hi All,
Living in West Africa one of the books that changed my way of looking at development issues - and indeed politics and class issues was Mike Davis's "Planet of Slums". His description of the new mega-urban sprawls with an underclass of un - or under employed people living and working outside the formal economy caused by the rural push rather than the urban pull of previous rural-urban migrations, rings so true in Accra.
