What Members Thought
To what can the current popularity of this novel be attributed? I think it not so good as Mansfield Park, although the movie version of the former is far better than that of the latter. My personal favorite Jane Austen novel, just on the basis of plot, is Mansfield Park. But Pride and Prejudice came first; and serves as Austen’s presentation of her thesis, while Mansfield Park is her antithesis, of a sort.
