(Thank you Goodreads for just deleting the much longer review I just wrote about this! ARGH.)
I love Rainbow Rowell's writing so much. I first discovered her through Fangirl, then Eleanor & Park, which may have been my favourite book from last year. Now she's back with Landline, billed as her new "adult novel," but rather than peg her as writing YA or adult fiction, I'd say she writes humanist fiction for anyone who's ever been in love. Oh, how I love Rainbow Rowell. I'm sure if I knew her personally, we would totally be BFFs. Landline is funny and heartwarming at the same time. I could relate to both Georgie and Neal. Georgie is an over-worked, stressed out television writer and Neal is a stay-at-home dad. The story was primarily set in the present day, showing Georgie and Neal's strained relationship but also flashed back to the back to when they first met so the reader gets a clear idea of how they ended up in the state they

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as Rowell's other work "Eleanor and Park." What I loved about "Eleanor and Park" was it's quirkiness while still dealing with some tough subjects. "Landline" does deal with some tough stuff, but I don't think that it has as much heart.

Landline is going to be THE book club book of the season. All of Rowell's talent for creating interesting, three dimensional characters is on display here. Loved it!

It's a quick read, with a neat fantastical twist. The ending wasn't satisfying... did the author run out of pages?

Cute book.... Makes you think about your own relationship and really puts life and love into prospective in a rather "out there" manner.
