This was interesting enough and with great dialogue as usual but I wasn't a fan of Neil just because it's hard to be fond of a character with no passion for anything else aside from Georgie ("I love you more than I hate everything else") and their daughters. I couldn't help but feel like if he just had some passion for work (or a best friend), he'd understand things better (Also the reason why he was so upset in 1998 was pretty stupid. Oh Rainbow - I do love you and your many references to cream cheese mints and other delightful midwestern traditions and edibles. Your writing style is always delightful and your characters (generally) relatable...but no. Sorry, not this time. A magic phone that connects you to the past? An extremely poorly developed love interest who seems borderline emotionally abusive? A weirdly narcissistic and immature ADULT POV character? Just no on this one. Still love you though. :)

Rainbow Rowell. Writer of my heart. I loved this book, perhaps not with the burning intensity of Eleanor and Park or even Fangirl, but this book felt like it was written for me. It's a book that will make you fall in love with your husband all over again.
