Several of my friends love this book, while others hateit. I fall somewhere in the middle. I really liked this book - the writing was excellent and captivating, but I was expecting a plot-driven novel and found a character-driven one instead. Translation? Nothing happens. Kvothe's story is interesting, and I really did like reading the book, but it was 700+ pages of really nothing exciting happening. Wow! I bought this book on a whim, and I am very glad that I did. The Name of the Wind is the first book in the King Killer Trilogy. It's named "day one" because it presents the first day of legendary hero, Kvothe, somewhat reluctantly telling a man named Chronicler about his life.
