I made it 60 pages before I realized I’d rather bang my head against the wall. 60 pages was also all I needed to know that there wasn’t a shred of originality in this book and I’ve already “read” it before.
I was predisposed to dislike this book for three reasons : 1) the use of “girl” in the title 2) the very false comparisons to “Gone Girl.” 3) the alliterative title (like Gone Girl) that somehow requires false comparisons.

What a load of utter drivel. I wanted to stop so many times, but I have the hardest time not finishing a book, especially for book club. This was the most poorly written book I've encountered in ages. Characters are flat, and any attempts at making them complex, or even relatable, just made them asinine. The dialogue could have been written by George Lucas.

This book was very intriguing with plot twists and everything. What would a good thriller be without a little Stockholm syndrome? I would suggest people read it. I've yet to read "Gone Girl" but I saw the movie and if that is what you're expecting from this book, you may be disappointed. Don't judge it off of the reviews cause you may end up loving it like me.
