I greatly enjoyed Seren's story. It was a very different Holocaust story than most I have read. I think most of us come to expect a certain...formula(for lack of a better word) when we pick up a WWII memoir. Although each survivor's story is unique, they do seem to blend together.

This Holocaust memoir deserves to be read. Seren's story of being a Hungarian Jew during WWII does not follow the usual path or the usual telling. Her desire to live was so powerful that her story focuses on the ingenious ways she overcame all obstacles and saved herself and those closest to her.
