What Members Thought
This is the true story of the ship Essex that was rammed by a large whale in the middle of the Pacific in the early 19th century, and how the sailors survived 90 days at sea on their whaleboats with very little food and water. This story was the inspiration for Moby Dick. It's a fairly gruesome tale in some ways but very well-written and a quick read. I would actually give it 3 1/2 stars if I had the option - honestly, I enjoyed this book more than Moby Dick!
