I could have sworn I wrote a long review of this book a while back when I first read it...but I guess not!
Fascinating, fascinating book about a first contact with an alien race. You see in flashbacks, from the discovery of the alien signal, the sending of a team, and the discoveries they make upon landing. The misunderstandings of such a different culture are there as they learn the ways of the not one but two major species on the planet.

I wonder if this book reads differently if you believe in god. Then, I wonder if if it reads differently if you decide to accept the existence of god within the book. In any case, I can't do either, so I found this an almost vicious indictment of religion.
