I can't even remember when I read Assassin's Apprentice (February? March? of this year). I do remember that this book was really slow at first and I thought the prose was a bit too stiff, and then suddenly, about halfway through, suddenly everything came alive, and I finished it very quickly and immediately read the rest of the trilogy.

No, I don't want to talk about Nosy and Burrich and Fitz and years-long misunderstandings. ...more
