It's fair to say that Logan's Run is too fucked up for our time.
Its weird acceptance of ten year old prostitutes, no one over twenty-one being left alive (unless they "Run"), rape, rape everywhere!, some space shit, lots of post-WW3 shit, beau coup dystopian shit, a Cracker's wet dream in the form of a bizarro Civil War re-enactments, racism here, there and everywhere, and misplaced faith in youth, which is tragic.

I went ahead and picked up this book because of the review I read on tor.com. I've seen the movie a couple of times and I do like it, but the book is better than the movie.
It's not better by a whole lot, so there is no "ZOMG, you've *GOT* to read the book" feeling, but the book is a solid good read. It's dated, it is about the plethora of baby-boomers and the potential population stresses, afterall. But it's a decent read, a fast paced sci-fi thriller with a lot of interesting ideas an ...more
